True Stories of a Budget 2 Luxury Life
Let's begin with how it all
started... for the past five years, I've been traveling nearly
full-time. I've recently relocated to the West Coast of the U.S. for
a stay of about two years, but before this fall, my life has been
travel crazy.
Most of the time, I've been
working as an aid worker in Africa while running Insider Travel
as a part-time business. During the day, I'd meet with presidents
and tour development projects. At night, I went in after
dinner to my tiny home office and hoped that the internet connection
was good enough to allow me to download all the work emails.
It got way too crazy, so twice
I pulled everything back and focused all my "part-time job" time on
a membership program called Gold Circle.
This allowed me to focus on quality promotions and special reports
for our premium members while I wasn't heading into rural Nigeria or heading over
to Dakar.
Anyway, when I wasn't working
in Africa, I was often flying back and forth, staying over in Europe
for months at a time in between returning to the U.S. and Canada.
I didn't make a salary for my
humanitarian work, so it was important to keep expenses as low as
possible. Through careful research and trial and error, I figured a lot of stuff
out. It's a long story (I'll include all the details on the report),
but the most important thing I learned was that the travel industry
is biased, and a skilled traveler can learn to exploit the bias for
personal gain.
In other words, while some
people pay $6,000 or more for a First Class transatlantic flight,
others are upgraded for free. Hotel suites are given out in a
seemingly random way. But with persistence, I learned how to
use this knowledge for my own benefit and achieve a better lifestyle
of international travel.
For a long time, I kept some of my secrets to myself and a few
close friends. I'm now back in the U.S.
for at least two years, and I decided on a vacation last month
that it's time to share all the secrets.
Since the theme of these
secrets is Luxury Travel at Economy prices, I decided to call
this project
Budget 2 Luxury.
The project begins with
five "case studies" that give highly specific information on the
following topics:
Case Study #1: Virgin Atlantic
Upper Class Suite

My Virgin Atlantic "Upper Class" suite... it's a
full bed! Also included is free access to an in-flight spa, a
full bar, and 200+ movies that can be viewed on demand.
Flight: Johannesburg, South Africa - London
Heathrow
Date: July 10, 2006
Cost:
$92 (taxes) and 50,000
Frequent Flyer Miles
Virgin Atlantic consistently
receives awards for having the best premium-cabin service in the
world. With an in-flight bar and masseuse (free service), it's
no surprise. Even better is a bed that fully reclines with the
touch of a button.
Last year I flew to London from
Johannesburg, and the Economy tickets sold for $729. Premium
Economy was $1399, and to be honest, I didn't even check the price
for Upper Class service because I knew it would be out of my budget
(it's normally about $3000+).
But even though I couldn't
afford the Upper Class cabin, I was determined to try it.
I'm pleased to tell you that I
did. All the way from the Johannesburg Clubhouse (Virgin's
exclusive airline lounge that serves a full dinner before you even
get to the plane) to the "Sleeper Suite" in seat 2B to the Arrivals
Lounge in London's Heathrow airport where I enjoyed free cappuccino
and a hot breakfast before venturing in to the city.
It was the best flying
experience of my life.... and it cost me only $92 in taxes
and 50,000 Frequent Flyer Miles.
Don't miss the most important
part of the story: I had never flown Virgin Atlantic before, and
didn't even have those miles in my account when I began planning the
trip.
60 days later, I had the miles
and that confirmed seat in 2B.
In the
Budget 2 Luxury
report, I'll tell you exactly how I pulled this
off... and more importantly, how you can do the same.
Case Study #2:
Brussels Marriott Hotel at $74 a Night

Here's where I stayed in Brussels... a suite in the
central Marriott for $74 a night.
The first time I went to
Brussels, I thought it was a beautiful city... and also a very
expensive one. I ended up staying in a youth hostel north of
the city. And guess what? A private room in the youth
hostel cost nearly $70 a night! (Yes, even hostels are
expensive in the bigger European cities.)
The NEXT time I went to
Brussels, I stayed at the Marriott right off the center of the
historic square. Even though the regular "discount" rate is
$219, I paid only $74 a night to stay there.
It sure beats the youth hostel,
right? Sure does, and especially when you pay almost the same price.
Hmmm, it's not a hard choice to make!
I've done this three times, and
I'm going back in March. This strategy is valid throughout Europe,
Asia, and North America.
In the
Budget 2 Luxury
report, I'll tell you exactly how I pulled this
off... and more importantly, how you can do the same.

The Big
Question: Why It's So Cheap...
We could easily
sell this report for $129 (or more). I have absolutely no doubt
of that, because the information contained inside is worth far more
than that. However, you won't have to pay $129 or even $97.
Beginning next month, we will price
Budget 2 Luxury at $59 a copy with a $10
surcharge for printed delivery (electronic delivery is free).
That will be a very fair price for everyone who pays it, and I know
they'll be thrilled that it's that affordable.
However, for
our readers that have been with us for the long-term - all those
years working abroad, through the launch of the
Gold Circle and
Canada Insider programs, and more - I want to make the deal even
better.
2007 is the
year of giving back to our customers. Consider it a late
Christmas present. Therefore, until our printed version is
available, we will offer electronic download copies at an
introductory "Insider" price.
